Meeeemories. :) For some reason my mother is watching the 'Beverly Hilbilies.' Now, don't get me wrong, I grew up watching that show and feel the need to defend it if anyone says anything against it...I just found it kind of odd. But anyway, the theme song comes up and my mom starts laughing and asks me if I remember going to Sunday school when we first moved here and were looking for a church we liked. So here's what she said happened those many years ago, which I only semi-remember.
So it was my first day at this new church that I didn't know (and still don't since we found a different one). Mum and dad send me off with all the other little kids and while they're all sitting there singing Bible songs like Jesus Loves Me and whatever I sit there silently. So the teacher lady comes over and smiles and says "Kellie, do you know any songs we can all sing? Or you can teach us?" I did. So I started singing. The Beverly Hilbilies theme song.

I bet the Bible teacher still talks about.
And in retrospect, I'm happy we found a different church. I'd hate to be known as that kid who sang the BH theme song in church.

If you're ever feeling bad about yourself just go to the State Fair. It'll cheer you up. Guarenteed. Went the other day and my feet are still all bloody from walking too much but I did come home with a bucket of cookies. An actual bucket. It's so gorgeous I could just eat it. I think I will. Only saw two kids on a leash though, which was mighty disappointing.
Joaquin Phoenix is a sexy beast. Just thought I should mention that.

I shall rant about work now for I don't want to do it to just one person because I know firsthand how damn annoying that can be. Read no further, this is for my own pleasure.
In all truth and honesty I really do like work. I like working with the customers, having little conversations and getting to know them a little more each time they come in. It's the employees that are starting to piss me off. Two in particular, the rest are extremely kind/friendly/loving/nice/great, whatever. I shall rant about the two. One is a girl my age and the other is a woman around the age of my mother. I know the older woman's daughter. Last week the woman's daughter came in when I was working and said something along the lines of "Oh, you work with my mom then?" Me: "Yep" Her: "She's a real bitch isn't she?" ...I was oh so tempted to just nod my agreement, but at that time I hadn't worked with her mom too much and didn't know her -that- well, so I just kind of laughed. If she'd asked me today I would wholeheartedly agree. This is the lowdown. The first person in is supposed to stay up front and work the registers and then in between customers put away cigarettes or candy. Easy and simple enough. Anyone else who's working register is allowed to leave if it's not too busy and go stock. The woman insists on having someone else there so she can go put away candy and not be bothered....Apparently she missed the point about 'in between customers' or just chose to ignore it. Anyway, it pisses me off and the other woman I work with (who's an absolute darling and whom I love working with) So she'll just push me into the aisles and tell me to just go and do something, she'll stay up front and then call up the other woman to work instead of me if it gets busy. Then scurry off herself to do something so the other woman is stuck up in front. Sneaky :) and it'll work for a bit, until the nasty woman calls me up and then takes off again. Arg, it's just incredibly irritating. And then the nasty woman yells at me for leaving and tells me that the manager working today told her specifically to go put the stuff away and that I had to stay up front. She disregarded the fact that yesterday I was told by the manager to go stock and that we were too busy to do it so another of the stock boys told me to go do it today. Arg. Now...that's a bit of what irks me about her. I shall move onto the girl my own age now who irks me. This girl has worked at the store for a few years now and is friendly to the other employees that've been there for a while, but for all intent and purposes is a bitch to every customer she doesn't know. Just doesn't give a damn if you know what I mean. I don't know who 'you' are or why 'you're' reading this. Stop. This is your life, and it's ending one minute at a time. You don't need to waste it on my venting filth. Then today of all things she says to me "I at least enjoy working here. Unlike some people" To which I retort that just the other day she was bitching about how long she's been here and how she hates it. I was tempted to just reply "Oh no. I love working here. I just hate you." :) Damnit. Should've. Gah, she also refuses constantly to switch days with me. I've asked at least three times, the latest just yesterday and always it's just "No. Bye." and hangs up the phone. Well fine, so she asks me today if I'll switch with her Sunday and start at eleven and work till seven (this is for all means, the hell shift) She says she has church. I told her I do to. She just sighs exsas...exasperatedly...damnit, how do you spell that. Anyway, it was wonderful. A touch of spite. Church gets out at 10:30. If I wanted to I probably could've started at 11. I just didn't want to. Not for her at least :) My one smile for the day.

I hate days when it just seems that nobody gives a damn. Today seems to be one of those days for me and if it weren't for the nice little greeting I got when I stopped in at work from a few people and the unexpected call from Krista I would probably be depressed right about now. Hell, I'm at the point that I'm reading bad Harry Potter slash and not stopping despite the total lack of plot (which, for the most part, almost always would annoy the hell out of me). Severus and Harry. Odd pairing. I like it.

And the oscar goes to...
*shivers* Well, last night me mum and I went and saw 'Signs' finally. (we were going to go Friday, but due to work and junk I was too tired to) There's....something about that movie that just horrified me. I don't think it was the actual going ons of the plot but instead just how everything was shot. Each scene was just nerve racking. The angle, the lighting, the sound the...blarg! everything! All in all though it was a marvelous movie; full of great funny parts (good lord, my mum was -crying- at one point she was laughing so hard) and a lot of suspense and jumpy parts ^_^ And Joaquin was wonderful of course, but then again Joaquin is always wonderful. Swing away indeed my good man. XD

Work. Something I'm sure I'll blog about many a days to come and probably focusing on the same old dribble. But neener- it's my blog, I shall post dribble if my cranky old lady heart desires it. Not that I'm an old lady...I just act like it a lot. Like scowling at the kids next door for screaming too much but never doing anything about it and lovingly petting my little lap dog. Right, but anyway...my feet hurt and I'm tired of being pseudo happy all day. Pseudo happy at six dollars an hour. Hardly seems worth it in retrospect. Mm, nu, I take that back. It's not the work itself, which all in all I don't mind much, it's just a lot of the people I work with...some good, fine, decent people; a few that have the personalities of snails and a select few with all the tendencies of a mongoose. Friendly until you get them cornered at which point they attack your heels until you -DIE-
I don't mind work. Really.
In other news= THIS made me cry in laughter.

Good Lord, it's already August. I hate when that happens. I slack off for a few weeks and all of a sudden it's nearly time for school again. Merp. Ah well, at least this blog page is looking a bit better than it was before. Lord knows those stonemen things were terrifying enough...didn't need them lingering about. And in similar news, Tyler Durden has to be one of the most interesting characters ever. Period. If you've never seen Fight Club then you have my pity. Go see it. Now. I can wait. *hugs movie* XD So good.
Strangely enough I've been getting a lot of nice comments and a lot quite a few flames on my pics recently...more good than bad though, so the bad hardly affect me at all at the moment (alright, not that they affected me that much before either...) but I guess it's just...odd...I guess. *shrugs* Ah well, need to draw some more anyway, lately it's been nothing but strange oekakis.
